We all know that large hotels serve buffet-style breakfasts to cater for the vast volume of people. We cook for you individually as everyone loves our breakfast with eggs cooked to perfection. It’s worth staying at Kirk Lea Guest House if only for the traditional English breakfast!


You have a choice from a selection of Cereal, Toast, Fruit Juice, Tea, Coffee, Bacon, Sausages, Beans, Mushrooms, Hash Browns, Black Pudding, Fried Bread, Pancake, Waffle, Scrambled Egg, Poached Egg, Fried Egg, Boiled Egg, Omelette, Fresh Tomatoes and Tinned Tomatoes.

The 'Scores on Doors' scheme, allows members of the public to see the results of the last food hygiene inspection in the form of a hygiene star rating.
Kirk Lea Guest House was inspected in April 2009 by a Calderdale Council Environmental Health Inspector and awarded the Excellent 5 star rating.
"Scores On The Doors" 5 Star award is given to premises which have demonstrated very high standards of food safety management and are compliant with food safety legislation, including Guest Houses and Bed and Breakfast (B&B) establishments.

5 Stars = Excellent. Very high standards of compliance with food safety legislation. Demonstrating better practice in managing and achieving this.
Compliance with Hygiene:
Very Good = High standard of compliance with statutory obligations and industry codes of recommended practice; conforms to accepted good practices in the trade.
Structural Compliance:
Very Good = High standard of compliance with statutory obligations and industry codes of recommended practice; conforms to accepted good practices in the trade.
Confidence in Management:
Good = Reasonable record of compliance. Technical advice available in-house or access to and use of technical advice from trade associations and/or from Guides to Good Practice and/or from Guides to Good Practice. Have satisfactory documented procedures and systems. Able to demonstrate effective control of hazards. Will have satisfactory documented food safety management system. Audit by Food Authority confirms general compliance with documented system.
